B737 Simulator Training

Rene recently took advantage of a program allowing pilots to spend a weekend at Continental's Pilot Training facility at IAH.  One day was spent on ground school for the 737, followed by some time in a 737 CPT (cockpit mock-up), and the FTD (simulator without vision/motion), where the pre-flight and engine start procedures were performed.  The highlight came the second day with an hour in the full-motion simulator (1/2 hour as pilot flying and 1/2 hour as pilot monitoring).  The experience included a visual approach, and ILS approach, and a CAT III autoland approach at SFO, as well as basic maneuvering, including a touch-and-go!  The remainder of the day was spent exploring Continental's computer based training modules for the 737.  See the pictures below!
